The Beginnings of the Veterans Memorial

Below is the letter written to Mr. Claude de Botton from the Newtown Township Veteran's Committee:

January 26, 2006

Dear Mr. de Botton,

Our organization is requesting your help in finding land on West Chester Pike (Route 3) for our Veterans Memorial. We feel this would be the ultimate place for our Veterans Memorial because of the visibility and safety factor.

We are very thankful to the Board of Supervisors for finding us a home for our Veterans Memorial at Brookside Park, but there have been some residents' concerns, and we feel this could become an expensive venture to the township.

Due to the above reasons, we hope you can help us make our dream come true by providing us with an alternate site on West Chester Pike. We know you are very patriotic and live this Country; you surely are a role model for all of our citizens.

Thank you for your assistance and we hope you can help us with this request. We look forward to working with you in the future.
